Kotak Mahindra Bank is one of the first banks to integrate on the newly launched Income Tax e-Filing portal (TIN 2.0), making Direct Tax payments incredibly seamless, quick and efficient.

Kotak Customers can make Direct Tax payment on the new Income Tax e-filing portal with Kotak account or pay Over the Counter at Kotak branch.

Non-Kotak customers can also pay Direct Taxes on the e-filing portal with the bank of their choice by simply choosing Kotak Payment Gateway. Once selected, they can then choose their Bank, and payment mode including Internet banking, Credit/Debit Card, International Credit Card & UPI.

  • Tax-saving investment proofs like EPF, PPF, life insurance, etc.
  • Health insurance premium receipts
  • Proof of capital gains like Purchase/Sale deed for land, house property, or building, or statements from the involved brokers or mutual fund houses

“CRN” refers to Challan Reference Number, which is a 14-digit number comprising your date of birth in the format yy/mm/dd followed by an eight-digit sequence number. This number gets generated by TIN 2.0 on the successful generation of a challan form.

What is CIN (Challan Identification Number)?

CIN stands for Challan Identification Number, which is a 18-digit number that includes your 14-digit CPIN and four-digit Bank Code (KKBK). A CIN is generated by an authorised bank upon the receipt of payment and its subsequent credit in the relevant government account held with them. Challan Identification Number (CIN) is CRN + Bank Code.
