Ganesh Chaturthi is the most special time of a year for Maharashtrians. Ganapati Bappa brings a wave of happiness, and the entire state celebrates these auspicious days with enormous joy. Housecleaning, decorations, and selection of Ganesh idols, there are so many things to do to make the visit of Bappa memorable. Having Ganapati at home is undoubtedly a fantastic feeling. Two weeks of Aartis, music and of course, Modak cheers you up for the rest of year. But the most fascinating, yet tiresome part of this festival is Decorations.
Decorations are the inseparable part of Ganesh Chaturthi. From fairy lights to garlands, you can use various decoration objects to make Bappa’s stay beautiful at your home. But at times, not just decorations, re-doing the interior could be a fantastic option to beautify your house during this festival?
Yes, changing or modifying the interior of the house can alter the aura of your house. There are various home décor ideas that you can use to redesign your house during this festival.
Check out these home décor ideas to give your house a total ‘Marath-Mola’ look.
‘Waada’ Themed House
Waada, a traditional palatial house, has always been a sign of prosperity in Maharashtrian culture. The Waada themed houses are designed by using traditional interior elements such as wood, copper, and brass. Wood was prominently used in typical Wadas and, when you incorporate these elements in your house, its texture creates spectacular effects. You can also fit a wooden swing in your living room to give it a touch of perfection.
This type of interior designing could require structural changes in your house, that may consume some of your savings. You need to manage various expenses from decorations to refreshment for guests when you have Ganapati at your place. Spending such a huge amount for the interior may appear to be difficult. In times like these, home renovation loan or a home improvement loan could be something you can consider.
Banks or Financial Institutes know that festival is the time of year when people require money for various purposes. That’s why they offer attractive interest rates during these days. If you are planning to renovate your home in this Ganesh Chaturthi 2019, all you need is to select the suitable home improvement loan with the right tenure.
Pavilion
The mandap is where Bappa resides during the entire festival. You can modify your living room to make it suitable to build one with the help of subtle interior changes. Be it changing the colour schemes of the entire room or simply making a small dedicated area for Bappa, the interior of the house surely adds up to the charm of festivals. You can change colours of the walls so that they can complement the colour schemes you have selected for your pavilion. The shades of orange, gold or yellow are the colours that bring up the glow of ‘Bhalchandra’.
Various beautiful designs for the pavilion are available in the market that you can use for Ganapati at your home. From Marigold Garlands to shimmering curtains, you can use whatever you want to decorate the pavilions for your Bappa.
Indian sitting arrangement
This is the most intimate yet authentic sitting arrangement for our traditional festivals. Baithaks are the resting areas created for seating in the living room. In a typical Baithak, a thick mattress is placed on the floor and along with a lot of cushions. You can make them more traditional by using covers made of Paithani sarees. You can use various decorative items such as lanterns or Diyas to add to the aura of your Baithak.
The gorgeous interior of the house creates beautiful effects during the festivals. All the items of decorations like lights, ribbons and all just add up the charm in your home. The elegant interior is not just welcoming to the diety that would be coming to stay at your place, but also for you as well as every guest that visits your home during this time.
