But there have been some updates in the payment process of stamp duty in Haryana. On April 12th, 2023, the government of Haryana, through the Urban Local Bodies (ULB), launched an online portal for payment and verification of stamp duty and registration charges. The goal is to promote digital transactions and reduce physical contact. These changes are expected to make payments more convenient and lower the risk of fraud.
How to Calculate Stamp Duty in Haryana
To calculate the stamp duty in Haryana, multiply the property value by the applicable stamp duty rate. For instance, the stamp duty rate for registering a property in urban areas of Haryana is 6% of the property's market value. Hence, if the property market value is Rs 50 lakh, the stamp duty payable will be Rs 3 lakh.
