Every person in India must own a house, irrespective of their financial status. To achieve these objectives, the Central and State Governments in India launch housing schemes from time to time. Accordingly, Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation Limited (APSHCL) launched the YSR Jagananna Housing Scheme or AP Housing society scheme, on June 3, 2021.
Under the YSR housing scheme, lower and middle-income groups will apply and secure loans ranging from INR 2L to 5L at house loan interest rates of 25 paise. The sole intention of the housing scheme is to aid the poor sections in Andhra Pradesh and help them realize their dream of living in their own home and saving much money they would otherwise pay as rent. More About YSR Housing Scheme-
The YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Government launched the YSR Housing Scheme 2022 to provide housing for approximately 30L people of Andhra Pradesh who are below the poverty line. It is the initiative of the YSR Jagananna Housing Colonies. The plan, a part of the Government's election manifesto, works to provide an own house and better living conditions to the downtrodden in Andhra Pradesh. It covers two projects: YSR Illa Pattalu Scheme and YSR Pedalandriki Illu Housing Scheme.
YSR Illa Pattalu Scheme
The YSR Illa Pattalu Scheme, YSR Avaas Yojana, YSR Housing Scheme, and Pedalaku Illu Pattaalu launch were to assist the poorest of the poor in Andhra Pradesh to have a house of their own. At the launch, the Chief Minister spoke of the state-funded housing scheme to aid in the construction of 30,75,755 house sites to build 28.3 lakh houses for the underprivileged. He also said of job opportunities created in the construction sector in the state in the construction sector.

YSR Pedalandriki Illu Housing Scheme
The Government of Andhra Pradesh launched a housing scheme, the Pedalandariki Illu Scheme to benefit the poorer sections of society residing in Vishakhapatnam, Kurnool, and Nellore districts. The launch was on November 18, 2020. The poor people will receive quality houses that are in good condition and comfortable.
The contractors will use quality construction materials to build these homes. The objective is not only to provide homes but to provide better living quarters to the underprivileged in the districts mentioned above and will have a kitchen, veranda, toilet, bedroom, and much more.
The State Government of Andhra Pradesh plans to spend INR 50 940Cr. and build approximately 28.30 lakh houses for the economically backward people of Andhra Pradesh. The Pendalandriki Illu housing scheme was successful in the 1st phase, with about 15.60 lakhs beneficiaries benefiting from the Pedalandariki Illu Scheme.

PMAY YSR Housing Schemes
The State Government of Andhra Pradesh receives assistance from the Central Government in two other schemes, which are:
PMAY-–YSR Urban Housing Scheme
To provide new-age concrete houses to urban residents in Andhra Pradesh.
PMAY-YSR Gramin Housing Scheme
The scheme assists the rural, economically backwards Andhraites by providing free land. The AP housing society also provides INR 1,8 L to help with the reconstruction work.
The Central Government has released INR 5000 Cr, and Andhra Pradesh has released INR 1000Cr to provide better living conditions to urban Andhraites.
Jagananna Housing Scheme (or Jagan Housing Scheme)
Any person who is a resident of Andhra Pradesh and earns more the INR 3L but less than INR 18L can avail of the benefits of the Jagananna Housing Scheme. People living within the Municipal corporation limits, even Government employees, can apply for a housing loan under the Jagan housing scheme.
